Brockhill and HGS Multi Skills Festival

Brockhill and HGS Multi Skills Festival

Released: 26th November 2008 at 09:00 AM

Friday 21st November saw the final multi skills festival for this term, with over 140 children it was the by far the largest!! The Harvey Grammar School Sports Hall was full of ladybirds, frogs, gorillas, snakes and numerous other insects and animals all buzzing around in a flurry of activity!!

Each animal had a go at 14 different stations in total from racing on space hoppers to balancing peacock feathers. All the stations were specifically designed to develop the children's ABC's - Agility, Balance and Co-ordination, all of which are key to their development. However the key theme running throughout the festival was to have fun and enjoy yourself; giving each and every child a positive experience of PE and sport. There were many smiling happy faces leaving the Sports Hall on Friday so we think the festival had the desired effect!!

The festival was also a debut for the Brockhill Leaders this year, and they did an outstanding job, providing the all important advice and enthusiasm to the children. Without the Brockhill Sports Leaders and the Harvey Grammar School Leaders the festival would not have been able to run, so a huge thank you goes to them for all their hard work!
