At the second attempt, the weather made for some fantastic all-round golfing displays at Etchinghill Golf Club. With over a hundred children taking part (many of whom were experiencing their first ever visit to a golf club); all the children were a credit to their schools.
Tri-Golf, a scaled down version of the larger game, uses smaller clubs and balls, helping to make it easier to learn and play. A range of activities were designed to give pupils an insight into golf and challenge all of those who took part. With activities requiring pupils to putt through a range of targets, chip onto greens and drive as far as they can, fun was had by all.
The mornings session was won by Greatstone, no doubt helped by the Schools proximity to three golf courses. Stelling Maris took both second and third places.
With a bigger turn out in the afteroon's session, Sandgate School managed to come out winners, with Cheriton second and St May's third.
A big thank you to all of the Etchinghill staff for providing the facility for the day. Thanks must also got to all of the PLT's for thie support and enthusiasm during the event. We must also thank Nell for her continued effort, without which none of today would have been possible.
See you allat the Kwik Cricket festivals!
