Thursday the 28th January saw the East Kent Regional Indoor rowing finals held at St Anselms School, Canterbury. With a strong field consisting of many of the County's most prestigious Schools, the going was at times tough.
With forty rowing machines wired up to one central computer screen, the event really has to be seen to be believed. Entries at all Seconday School year groups were open, with the top six in each race going forward to the prestigious Kent County Finals, held at the Kings School in Canterbury.
With a twenty five strong team, the Marsh Academy enjoyed a huge amount of success. In the year seven race, Anndrew O Connell and Ben Procter finished first and second, whilst in the girls year seven race, Carmael Brown secure second place. The year eight race was won by the Marsh's Tom Curd. In the Sixth Form races Andrew Curran, Tricia McKinley and Lilly McLaughlin all qualified. There was further success in the relay events, with the year seven boys qualifying. An altogether outstanding days work.
The Kent County finals take place on Thursday the 11th of February. Watch this space for the results!
