On Tuesday 8th December Folkestone Sports Centre was inundated with 180 year 5 and 6 children from Pent Valley and Folkestone Academy Families of Schools at the OAA Festival. Each event was supervised and led by sports leaders from Pent Valley and Folkestone Academy.
The children worked together in small groups to solve 9 different problem solving and teamwork activities like directing sheep into the appropriate pens without the use of the english language and working together to untie a human knot.
Teams awarded themselves scores on how well they had worked as a team and looked at what they could do to improve and solve the problems again.
The sports leaders awarded gold stars to those children who demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, many of whom have taken on the role of Play Leaders at School.
Congratulations to St Eanswythes, Hawkinge and Lyminge Primary schools whose teams recieved the most gold stars and walked away with top points.
