BP Year 3/4 Gladiators Festival 09

On Thursday 19th November, more than 120 gladiators from the Brockhill Park family prepared to battle against each other in various games that tested their coordination, speed and teamwork.  Twelve teams of ten students from Year 3 and 4 from Lympne, Sellindge, Saltwood, St. Augustines and Palmarsh Primary attended the fun-filled afternoon led by young leaders from both Harvey Grammar and Brockhill Park School. 

Teams competed in six activities which aimed to involve maximum participation and guaranteed enjoyment.   It was great to see so many happy faces completing the Run the Gauntet, Sitting Volleyball, Tug of War, Ping, Target Ball and Benchball.

Run the gauntlet tested the gladiators ability to dodge obstables to collect treasure whilst the opposing team desperately tried to stop them by throwing a ball at their legs to stop them in their tracks.  Ping proved a tough challenge as gladiators worked hard to catch their teams balls thrown from a lacrosse catch in a parachute.

Congralutations to all teams who achieved so well in all games, but a special mention must go to the Predators (St. Augustines), Siren (Saltwood), Inferno (Palmarsh) and Atlas (Sellindge) who achieved the highest scores of the day.

Overall it was a great pleasure to work alongside some very talented leaders and some very enthusiastic gladiators!  The smiles speak for themselves and prove that the event was a success - having fun through sport!  Thank you to all those who made the event possible.  If you would like to look at more pictures from the event, you can view them in the gallery.  Have fun!
