PLT day 1

On Tuesday 22nd September the Shepway School Sport Partnership’s SSCo’s and PLT’s met for their first compulsory day of the year. Nell warmly welcomed everybody back, and the PLT’s were introduced to Projects Officer Claire, a new member of the team, and also welcomed back Hannah as SSCo for the Folkestone Academy Family.

After a morning of tracker updates and information sharing the group got the opportunity to play, with Neil our Competition Manager and Sarah from the KCFA leading everyone in a very active session of mid morning Futsal.

Nell then celebrated some of the achievements of the PLT’s, with event attendance hampers being awarded to Ritchie, Becky, Jez, Louise, Angela and Sam.

Martin, Lynne, Jacqui, Morag, Irene, Becky, Jez and Victoria were also announced as the new PLT mentors. Congratulations to all.

A soup and sandwich lunch was followed by family time, with PLT’s using this opportunity to book onto their festivals and discuss projects with their SSCo’s. Liz did an amazing job of dealing with over an hour of constant website and transport enquiries and as Jo Winkler arrived with Swimming updates and external coaches information, most glitches had been sorted and festivals were beginning to fill up.

As usual, the PLT day was a lot of fun, and a great opportunity for everyone to meet up and make plans for the rest of the year. There is always a buzz in the room when the whole team gets together and it is a reminder of what a fantastic group of people this is, and what an amazing difference the hard work of the PLT’s makes.
