The PESSYP Results for the academic year 2009-2010 have now been produced and the partnership results especially primary are truely inspiring.
As a partnership we are exceeding a whole host of national averages, especially at primary level and it is fair to say that in some cases we are well and truely leading the way nationally. Here are some of the most exciting parts of our results.
2 Hours PE: From Year 1 all the way through to Year 11, pupils in Shepway schools are doing above 120 minutes of PE every week. With Year 1 pupils now reaching 125 minutes and Year 5 pupils on average doing as much as 136 minutes. On average pupils in Shepway receive a fantastic 133 minutes of PE in an average week. A huge well done must go to Highview Special School, Palmarsh Primary, Sellindge Primary, St Augustines Primary and Stowting Primary, who are leading the way in PE provision .
3hour offer: As a partnership we now see 52% of our pupils taking part in PE and School Sport in an average week. Hands together for Castle Hill Primary, Foxwood Special School, Lyminge Primary, Saltwood Primary, Sellindge Primary and Stelling Minnis Primary, all schools where 90% of pupils or above now do 3 hours of PE and School Sport per week... well done to you all!
Intra School Competition: Primaries lead the way, when it comes to Intra School Competition. 80% of pupils or above in primary schools in Year 1 through to Year 6 recieve an intra school competition opportunity. With this staying above 60% for 3 times or more a year! 3 years ago as a partnership we were as low as 25%, so a huge thank you to everyone. A special well done to all those schools gaining the 100% mark at regular intra competition : Brookland Primary, Elham Primary, Greatstone Primary, Hawkinge Primary, Saltwood Primary, St Martins Primary to name but a few.
Inter School Competition: Once again primaries lead the way with Inter School Competition. Based purely on primary data, as a partnership over 65% of young people now experience a competitive opportunity and 45% now do regularly. These results are an outstanding achievement and as a key target demonstate just how well the projects and programmes are working - so thank you. A huge well done to Selsted Primary, St Augustines and St Peters all of which have a 100% of pupils regularly competing.
Well here comes 2010 - 2011 and with the Olympics just round the corner, lets make this the best year yet. Thank you to everyone in all our schools, who show such unwaivering commitment and belief in PE and School Sport.
